Baltimore Clayworks strives to provide high-quality ceramic arts instruction for the enjoyment and enrichment of all. Our educational program is led by artists who are both locally treasured and retain high national profiles in the field of ceramics.
Classes are offered for beginning through advanced students in wheel throwing, hand building, sculpture and glazing techniques. Class sizes are small and registration fees include instruction, shelf space, 25 lbs of clay, glazes, bisque firings, and discounts on glaze firings, as well as free studio use at specified times. Students have use of equipment such as potters' wheels, slab rollers, an industrial glaze spray booth, glaze mixing stations, wedging tables, and ware carts. And coming in 2019 - 3D make equipment.
Try-It! and Date Night! classes are each a one-time, three hour session that give the curious a chance to get their hands in clay and experiment. Try it with friends or on date night.
Children and youth classes are offered regularly, and Summer Camps start filling up in January.
