Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) Program

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community Investment Tax Credits program supports Baltimore Clayworks

What is CITC?

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community investment tax credits program supports Baltimore Clayworks by awarding allocations of state tax credits to Maryland residents and businesses who donate to support specific projects. Baltimore Clayworks is the recipient of tax credits which will be distributed in the next few months.

Businesses and individuals that donate $500 or more toward specific initiatives will earn a tax credit equal to 50% of the value of the money, goods, or real property contribution.

These tax credits are in addition to the deductions on both federal and state taxes as a result of a charitable contribution.

Baltimore Clayworks has identified these four programs for support through the CITC program. Kiln improvements and upgrades, DEAI training and support for teaching artists, sourcing renewable fuel and energy to help offset our carbon footprint, and clay-making supplies such as clay, glaze, bats, ware boards, and other essential materials for the clay studio.

With equity in mind, the board of Baltimore Clayworks has developed a distribution policy giving individuals an opportunity to give at their comfort level.

If you would like to donate $500 or more to support these initiatives, please fill out the Pledge contribution form with your legal name and signature. This form must be returned to Baltimore Clayworks, either in person or by mail. Please do not send in any money at this time. Once the pledges are received, the tax credits will be allocated and you will be informed of your final donation and credit amount.

We hope that many of our community members can take advantage of this incredible opportunity to invest in this organization and enjoy the benefits of the CITC program.
