Community Arts Spring Showcase: Medical Detectives
March 21 @ 10:00 am – May 23 @ 5:00 pm
The Community Arts Spring Showcase honors the creativity, perspectives, and shared stories of our vibrant community. This season’s showcase also highlights an exciting partnership with Pimlico Elementary/Middle School and Sinai Hospital through an arts integration collaboration with a group of 7th graders participating in the Pimlico Medical Detectives Program.
The Medical Detectives Program at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School is a specialized STEM initiative for grades 6–8 developed in partnership with LifeBridge Health and Sinai Hospital. Using the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum, students engage in hands-on medical simulations, from measuring vital signs to diagnosing infectious diseases. A cornerstone of the program is a visit to the Sinai Hospital Simulation Center, where students practice clinical skills on advanced medical mannequins under the guidance of healthcare professionals. The experience culminates in an annual white coat pinning ceremony, symbolizing students’ growing commitment to careers in health and science.
“I was so excited to visit the Baltimore Clayworks gallery and see the artwork of 7th grade Medical Detectives on display. It is a gorgeous exhibit brimming with creativity. Stephen, thank you so much for your work to make this happen! I am blown away by this talent.” – Roxanne Woltil, Program Manager, School Partnerships, LifeBridge Health|Community Development
