EARTH and LIGHT: Divergence

July 6 @ 6:00 pm August 24 @ 5:00 pm

Wayman Scott, EMBARC Fellow

Racial equity is under attack nearly everywhere you look.  EARTH and LIGHT: Divergence shines a light on the importance of equity by sharing personal stories and experiences. As an African American man living with dyslexia and ADHD, I’ve faced dual biases and had to advocate for awareness about neurodivergence. This show reflects my journey to challenge them.

When facing adversity, we must ask ourselves: “What keeps me grounded? What is my light?”

Through a combination of ceramic, lighting, and the human figure, this show invites viewers to explore these questions. By sharing my perspective, I hope to inspire viewers to reflect on their own biases and strive for greater understanding and empathy
