Walters Art Museum Curator, Ellen Hoobler, is offering Clayworks’ members a private tour of the recently opened exhibition, Latin American Art / Arte Latinoamericano, “the museum’s first longterm installation dedicated to the cultural, historical, and social exploration of Indigenous art of the Americas based on its permanent collection.” (thewalters.org)
The tour will focus on ceramic objects in the collection and how they were created. Hoobler will discuss topics such as the 14 different slip colors created by The Nazca of Peru and the molds and textures from other cultures. There will also be time to view the exhibition on your own.
