Baltimore Clayworks provides high quality ceramic arts instruction for the enjoyment and enrichment of all. Our education program is led by locally treasured teaching artists with notable national profiles in the field of ceramics.
All abilities are welcome in our Mt. Washington studio. Classes include beginning through advanced topics in wheel throwing, handbuilding, sculpture, and glazing techniques. Class sizes are small, and registration fees include instruction, shelf space, 25 lbs. of clay, bisque firings, and discounts on glaze firings, as well as free studio use at specified times. Students have access to equipment including potters’ wheels, slab rollers, an industrial glaze spray booth, glaze mixing stations, wedging tables, and ware carts.

Baltimore Clayworks offers a wide range of ceramics classes and workshops for adults and youth, from beginner to advanced levels. Register here for handbuilding, wheel-throwing, sculpture, and glazing techniques in multi-week courses or one-time workshops designed to inspire creativity.
Studio Scheduling
Students registered for a class or monthly Open Studio program can reserve hourly time slots using our online calendar. Space is limited.

Scholarship Opportunities
Baltimore Clayworks offers Hands in Clay scholarships and grants to make ceramics education accessible to all. Open to students ages 6–106, these awards provide 50%–100% tuition assistance for classes, helping diverse makers explore, create, and grow through the art of clay.
