Art In Bloom: Baltimore Clayworks Invites You To The Garden Party Gala And Fundraiser And Free Earthenworks Community Day

Baltimore Clayworks is pleased to host its 45th Anniversary Garden Party Gala and Fundraiser and EarthenWorks Community Day on Saturday, May 3, 2025, on the grounds of its Mount Washington campus. Both events highlight Baltimore Clayworks’ commitment to fostering creativity, building community, and expanding access to ceramic arts education.

This special afternoon honors 45 years of Baltimore Clayworks’ dedication to ceramics while raising crucial funds to support its growth as a leading ceramics institution. We will be joined by Councilman Yitzy Schleifer and other distinguished guests for this memorable celebration.

Guests will enjoy an elegant afternoon featuring:

  • Live music and entertainment
  • A silent auction showcasing works from leading ceramic artists
  • Garden tours and interactive art activities
  • Locally sourced food and refreshments
  • Live music in the Gallery

Proceeds from the Garden Party will directly support Baltimore Clayworks’ mission to provide high-quality ceramic arts programming, including scholarships, community partnerships, and residencies for emerging and established artists.

Tickets for the Garden Party are $125 per person, which includes a $45 donation, and a limited number of commemorative $45 tickets available on a first come, first served basis. Sponsorship packages are available for individuals and organizations wishing to offer additional support.

The EarthenWorks Community Day, a free, family-friendly event that welcomes the public to experience hands-on ceramic activities and the creative spirit of Baltimore Clayworks, will take place on May 3rd, 2025, between 2:00 – 4:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public, although registration is required.

This year’s Community Day will include:

  • Artist demonstrations in wheel throwing and hand-building
  • Hands-on clay activities for all ages
  • Guided tours of Baltimore Clayworks’ historic studio and gallery spaces
  • Opportunities to learn about upcoming classes, workshops, and community programs
  • A complimentary sweet treat for everyone

EarthenWorks Community Day embodies Baltimore Clayworks’ core values of inclusion, creativity, and accessibility by providing free activities that engage participants in the joy of working with clay.

“We are proud to offer these two special events this spring,” said Claire Carberry, Director of Development at Baltimore Clayworks. “The Garden Party Gala helps sustain our mission financially, while EarthenWorks Community Day invites everyone to experience the transformative power of ceramic arts, firsthand. Together, they reflect our deep commitment to community, creativity, and accessibility.”

About Baltimore Clayworks (BCW)

Recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, BCW was founded by nine artists in 1980. Our mission is to develop, sustain, and promote an artist-centered community that provides outstanding educational, residency, and collaborative programs in the ceramic arts. We offer classes and workshops for adults and children, host short and long-term residencies for emerging artists, present rotating exhibitions along with a retail shop featuring the work of local and internationally recognized ceramicists, and BCW utilizes the universal medium of clay to engage under-resourced communities in and around Baltimore.
