Ceramic artists are at the heart of Baltimore Clayworks. Artists are at the center of the mission of Baltimore Clayworks, and provide the organization with talent and innovation to inspire our community and to enliven the artistic impact of ceramics in our region. Their professional and personal networks provide a kaleidoscope of interactions with peers, galleries, and academic institutions, which keep the organization at the forefront of contemporary ceramic art.
Artist Bio
Clarissa Pezone, 2026 TNNUA Artist Exchange, is a sculptor living and working in Baltimore, Maryland. Her studio work encompasses figurative sculpture and installation using clay, textiles, paint and mixed media. Influenced by mythology, the uncanny and lore, Pezone explores themes that exist between reality and the unknown in her sculptures. Born in Sacramento, CA. She received her BA from Humboldt State University in 2013 and an MFA from Indiana University Bloomington in 2021. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including the Indianapolis Art Center (Indianapolis, IN), C.R.E.T.A Rome (Rome, Italy), and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington (Arlington, VA).
