Wayman Scott

Wayman Scott is an impressionist sculptor and portrait artist who uses contemporary, historical, & religious themes and imagery to pay tribute to heroes and highlight stories of marginalization and triumph using the Baltimore Area as a tapestry. Wayman works in Diversity & Inclusion and incorporates equity and inclusion in his art. He is the 2021 recipient of the Mary Nyburg Award. Wayman was a short term resident at Baltimore Clayworks in 2022, an Openshaw Fellow at Maryland Hall the summer of 2023 and is currently a resident at Baltimore Clayworks as the EMBARC Fellow. Wayman’s work has been featured in The Catholic Review, America Magazine, The Black Catholic Messenger , the film Outlasting Clay and the Capital Gazette.
