Patrick Bell was born in Reisterstown, Maryland and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his BFA in Ceramics from Edinboro University in 2016 and subsequently spent two years studying Ceramics at Wichita State University in Kansas. After completing his MFA in Ceramics at Kent State University Patrick moved to Baltimore to accept a Long-Term Residency at Baltimore Clayworks where he teaches as well as at MICA, the Community College of Baltimore County, Howard Community College, Columbia Art Center and Baltimore School for the Arts. Patricks’ work has been shown across the country from NYC to California, Texas to Oregon and more locally in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Ohio among others. His latest works raise questions about identity, body dysmorphia, mental illness as well as mal-adaptive and destructive self-soothing strategies.
