Pin Making Day in conjunction with the “Trans Passions” Exhibition by Jai Sallay-Carrington

Through Trans Passions direct sales and pin purchases we raised over $900 for Baltimore Safehaven!

Baltimore Clayworks’ “Trans Passions” exhibition, featuring the work of Jai Sallay-Carrington, the 2023-24 Lormina Salter Fellow, has been a resounding success since its opening. Running from July 6 to August 24, this exhibition has drawn attention not only for its compelling art but also for the special Pin Making Day that marked its opening.

On the opening day, visitors participated in a heartwarming event where they received unique, handmade pins with every donation to Baltimore Safehaven. These pins, crafted with love by a group of queer and trans individuals, as well as supportive allies, at the Baltimore Clayworks studio, have become cherished symbols of solidarity and creativity within our community.

The Pin Making Day brought together a diverse group of people, united by their support for both the arts and the trans community. The pins, now a treasured keepsake for many, represent the collective effort and spirit of inclusivity that Baltimore Clayworks champions.

As “Trans Passions” continues to inspire visitors, we reflect on the joy and unity that Pin Making Day brought to our community, reinforcing the importance of art in fostering connection and support.
