BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore Clayworks invites the public to celebrate the opening of five exciting new exhibitions, each offering a distinct perspective on narrative, surface, function, and community in contemporary ceramics with our Lormina Salter Fellow Invitational, Reflections, in our Main Gallery and On the Surface in our Solo Gallery. This vibrant evening will bring together artists, collectors, students, and clay enthusiasts for a night of creativity, conversation, and connection. Guests will enjoy light refreshments, explore new works in the galleries, and shop unique handmade pieces in our Gallery Shop which will be open late for the occasion.

Reflections – Lormina Salter Fellow Invitational
In honor of Baltimore Clayworks’ 45th anniversary, Reflections celebrates the history and impact of the Lormina Salter Fellowship. Curated by former fellows Aisha Harrison (’10), Hannah Pierce (’18), Kevin Rohde (’14), and Travis Winters (’15), the exhibition features 20 contemporary ceramic sculptors from across the country. The works center on narrative and figurative expression, exploring themes of identity, storytelling, and shared humanity.

On The Surface – Lormina Salter Fellow Invitational
Curated by alumna Shalya Marsh (’11), On The Surface showcases six contemporary ceramic artists who push the boundaries of surface design. From intricate patterning and layered textures to experimental glazing and material innovation, this exhibition reveals how surface treatment acts as its own language, conveying cultural narratives, conceptual depth, and artistic curiosity.

Oktoberfest – Beer Steins and Wine Goblets Invitational
Raise a glass to craft and community with Oktoberfest, Baltimore Clayworks’ annual invitational celebrating the artistry of beer steins and wine goblets. This spirited exhibition features works from a range of ceramic artists, each reimagining traditional forms with their own style and flair. Purchases from this collection qualify shoppers for unique perks at our annual Fire Fest event.
New Kids On The Block – Incoming Fellow and Resident Artists Show
Meet the future of ceramic art in New Kids On The Block, featuring work from Baltimore Clayworks’ newest Fellows and Resident Artists. Spanning a wide range of styles, techniques, and themes, the exhibition offers an inspiring introduction to these artists’ voices and visions as they begin their time in our studios.

Celebrate creativity at every level in the Community Arts Fall Showcase, featuring ceramic works by participants in Baltimore Clayworks’ Community Arts programs. This colorful, diverse display embodies the joy, skill, and sense of belonging fostered through our outreach partnerships.
