Baltimore Clayworks’ Annual Pottery Seconds Sale & Preview Party returned June 6–8, 2025, bringing together artists, supporters, and neighbors for a joyful weekend dedicated to community, creativity, and clay. Each year, this beloved event serves not only as a fundraiser but as a reminder of the generosity and passion that fuels our mission.
We are thrilled to share that this year’s event raised $19,627.61 to support our arts education initiatives, exhibitions, and community-centered programming. Every dollar raised helps us continue to provide accessible, high-quality ceramic arts experiences for learners of all ages across Baltimore and beyond.
The festivities kicked off on Friday evening with a ticketed Preview Party featuring food by Train Stop Smokehouse and drinks from the Wine Collective and Union Craft Brewery along with acoustic folk music with singer-songwriter Letitia VanSant and Ahren Buccheister. Guests had first access to a wide selection of beautifully imperfect ceramic seconds – pieces that didn’t quite meet the artists’ standards for gallery shows but still radiated personality and craftsmanship. Attendees had the opportunity to meet artists, connect with board members and staff, and experience the spirit of Baltimore Clayworks firsthand.

Over the weekend, the sale continued with two days of free, public shopping. Visitors browsed hundreds of unique mugs, bowls, platters, vases, and sculptural surprises, each one donated by the talented artists, students, and friends of our studio. Whether searching for the perfect handmade gift or discovering a one-of-a-kind treasure, there was truly something for everyone.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this event possible: the artists who donated their work, the volunteers who kept the sale running smoothly, and every supporter who came through our doors to shop, donate, or simply celebrate with us.
This event is a testament to what happens when people come together in support of the arts—and of each other. Thank you for helping us raise nearly $20,000 to keep clay accessible, affordable, and joyful for all.
We can’t wait to welcome you back next year!
