This spring, Baltimore Clayworks had the pleasure of visiting Roland Park Elementary to see one of our dynamic Community Arts programs in action. Teaching Artist Bernadette Larimer has been leading students through hands-on ceramic lessons, fostering creativity, confidence, and curiosity through clay. The classroom was alive with imagination as students were shaping clay with focus and joy, exploring new techniques, and connecting with the medium in meaningful ways.
We love these images of Bernadette in action that highlight not only her talent as an artist but her deep care as an educator. As one partner shared, “Getting to see students so engaged really refilled my art teacher heart!”
We are excited to showcase the incredible artists and educators working throughout Baltimore, offering a glimpse into where they’re teaching, their artistic practice, and a few reflections from the classroom. We believe their stories deserve to be seen and celebrated. Stay tuned as we lift up the voices of our teaching artists who make clay come alive for students across the city.
