Clay Mixer: Throw and Tell with Resident Artists Kashima Robinson and Ali Saunders

On February 20, Baltimore Clayworks hosted an evening of creativity, connection, and artistic reflection with our Clay Mixer: Throw and Tell, facilitated by EMBARC Fellow Kashima Robinson and Resident Artist Ali Saunders. This engaging event brought together artists to share their work, ask questions, receive peer feedback, and explore their creative paths in a supportive environment.

The session was guided by the Discovery, Dream, Design, and Delivery framework, encouraging participants to reflect on their artistic processes, set new goals, and refine their creative visions. Whether throwing on the wheel, discussing inspirations, or simply listening and learning from one another, everyone had the opportunity to gain new insights and perspectives.

Adding to the community spirit of the evening, light snacks were provided, and guests were invited to bring their own beverages. The relaxed and welcoming setting encouraged conversations that extended beyond the session, fostering new connections and artistic collaborations.

As a special bonus, the event coincided with our Member Shopping Day, allowing participants to browse and purchase unique ceramic pieces before diving into the evening’s activities. The synergy of shopping, creating, and sharing made for a truly holistic Clayworks experience.

Events like Clay Mixer: Throw and Tell remind us why spaces for artistic dialogue are so essential. They provide a platform for growth, encouragement, and the celebration of creative journeys, reinforcing Baltimore Clayworks’ commitment to nurturing artists at every stage.

A heartfelt thank you to Kashima and Ali for leading such a meaningful evening and to everyone who joined us. We look forward to seeing how your work evolves and welcoming you to future gatherings in our vibrant clay community!
