Work Exchange
If you would like to take a class but don't have the extra cash, then work exchange is for you! An integral part of the our educational program, work exchange allows you to work for Baltimore Clayworks in exchange for half of your class fee! Every hour you work for Clayworks removes $7 from your class fee.
What kind of work will you do? You will help with the day-to-day activities that keep Clayworks running, including assisting with the evening supply store, glaze mixing, gallery sitting, special events, marketing, and mailings.
Work exchangers must
- Enroll in a class
- Become a member
- Commit to four Sunday afternoon clean-ups (1-2 hours each) during your term of enrollment
- Attend a mandatory meeting held on the wednseday, two weeks before the start of session to be officially approved, receive labor assignments, and sign a labor agreement contract
- Work the big cleanup at the end of the session
- Complete work exchange hours within the session of the class taken, or you will be billed for the remaining balance
