- Position opening: Office Manager/ Financial
- Reports to the Executive Director
A lively cultural non-profit located in northwest Baltimore will have an early June opening for a financial manager for its day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have an excellent accounting background, good financial management skills, and will enjoy being part of an established and well-functioning staff team. This position is supported by a 2 day per week AP/AR staff member. Grant tracking and understanding of cash flow are essential.
The finance manager will:
• Prepare statements and reports (monthly financials, cash flow projections, and any analysis of business operations) for review by management, and Finance Committee, executive committee and the full board
• Oversee all of Accounts payable/ Accounts receivable, cash disbursement and receipts functions
• Assign appropriate chart of accounts codes to all transactions
• Manage payroll and direct deposit of employee compensation and manage employee benefits
• Maintain ongoing balances for income/ expense in comparison to operating budget as well as accurate recording of restricted activity.
• Pay all taxes (941, sales & use tax, qtry SUI), year end W2, 1099, 940, MW508
• Work with staff to create draft, monitor, and re-forecast budgets for operations, programs, grants and any campaign reports
• Manage cash and investment accounts
• Prepare materials for the annual audit and prep for 990
• Attend a weekly workday staff meeting
Experience needed:
Candidate needs a degree or comparable formal training in accounting, excellent references and the ability to work well with others.
Candidate should be proficient in the following:
QuickBooks w/Class accounting;
EFTPS, B-File (MD Withhold/Sales & Use Tax)
Microsoft Excel, Outlook, general computer skills. Prior not-for-profit accounting experience is a strong plus.
