The Mary E Nyburg Fund for Artist Development
The Mary E Nyburg Fund for Artist Development is a memorial fund initiated by Mary’s friends. It recognizes her significant contribution to the advancement of the ceramics arts and to the American craft movement. Proceeds provide a stipend to a selected Clayworks artist for a period of dedicated, focused investigation of clay. The endowment serves as a formal and perpetual way to recognize Mary and her support of the artists and their continuing development.

Baltimore Clayworks has two endowments: our general endowment housed at the Baltimore Community Foundation and the Mary E. Nyburg Fund for Artist Development held at Brown Advisory.
Mary E. Nyburg Fund for Artist Development will be established permanently at Brown Advisory in Baltimore, MD, by a group of donors and friends of Mary E. Nyburg, a potter, gallery owner and teacher of ceramics. We ask you to join with us and others who love clay, craft and Mary’s legacy to support the development of the Fund that will be an everlasting gift to enrich the experience of Clayworks artists. Each year, proceeds from the Fund will provide a stipend to a selected Clayworks artist for a period of dedicated, focused investigation of clay in a recognized institution or craft center away from Baltimore. The endowment will serve as a formal and perpetual way to recognize, as Mary did, that concentrated periods of study are essential in order to deepen our understanding of crafts.
The general endowment fund at the Baltimore Community Foundation held for the benefit of Baltimore Clayworks will assist the organization in providing long-term financial security.
