The purpose of this class will be to bring into focus the infinite surface possibilities available in the Baltimore Clayworks Noborigama. This class will include throwing and hand-building techniques suitable for wood-firing. In particular we will focus on pots that tumble stack, Shino glazes as well as flashing slips and colored slips. The goal at the end of the class will for students to identify what makes your own work sing. Students must have previous clay experience but no previous wood-fire experience is required. Students may register to participate in any of our Community Noborigama dates that best fit their schedule (see code CW for details).
