In this 12-week class participants will work at a small scale to explore form, surface and color. Students will employ basic hand-building techniques along with press molds and home-made tools to create and assemble sensitive and detailed vessels. The use of mason stains to color clay, slips and glazes will be demonstrated while exploring ^6 oxidation firing. There are no limits to imagination but students are encouraged to work small in order to fully explore the intimate possibilities of scale. Students should have a basic knowledge of clay before enrolling in this course.
