This 12-week course will address the many aspects and considerations of creating large service forms. Special attention will be devoted to the techniques used at each stage of centering, throwing, trimming, decorating and glazing; with particular emphasis given to profile, rim and foot treatment and relationship to the vessel, as well as scale. Demonstrations will include serving bowls, platters and chargers. A special topic for this course will be solving problems in making nesting bowls.
